Lapidary Grinding wheels

When cutting gems, it is important to have the right lapidary tools to complete each work. These tools will make all of the difference in both finishing the job and your financial position. Also it's vital to buy these tools from a trustworthy manufacturer and they should also be of high quality.

Lapidary tools are used for the cutting, shaping and finishing of gems. These tools will make the job less complicated: diamond band saw, grinders, trimming saws, flattening machines, drills and drill bits, and carbide cutting tools.

There are plenty of sorts of saws and most use a mixture of the following:

Employ a heat gun for mounting gemstones on dopsticks.

For polishing jade use Linde A on a muslin buff.

A butcher's block makes an excellent solid and smooth work bench.

Soak stones in bleach to enhance the color, but ensure that once this is done they're then neutralised with soda or they will tarnish the mounting.

Vinegar helps with polishing facets, particularly soft materials.
